The EDS IMAPS CS 2008 conference will be held at the Brno University of Technology. All the activities - registration, conference sessions, poster session, exhibition and coffee breaks - will take place on the Conference Center of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Comunication at Technicka 8. Conference Hotel Palacky is situated 500 meters from the conference venue.

Brno is the second largest city of the Czech Rupublic situated in the southern Moravia. Brno was the first European town to utilise the electric bulb to illuminate a theatre. It was Brno where Gregor Mendel formulated his laws of genetics. Here Victor Kaplan designed the first water turbine and Leoš Janácek composed his musical works. Bohuslav Fuchs, Mies van der Rohe, Arnost Vízner and others built examples of modern architecture in Brno and Milan Kundera wrote his first novels here.

There are six universities in Brno offering education in engineering, the humanities, the natural and social sciences, agriculture, the arts and other fields. They include the Brno University of Technology, Masaryk University, the Mendel University of Agriculture and Forestry, the University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy, the Janacek Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts and the Brno Military Academy.
